Rossville has a rich history, dating back to the mid-1800s. Many of the smaller communities around Rossville are also featured in our collection, such as Delia and Willard. Rossville also has close ties to communities such as Silver Lake, St. Marys, Maple Hill, and Emmett.
Through a joint project with other Northeast Kansas libraries and the Northeast Kansas Library System, a special website has been created that allows libraries to digitize their local, historical collections. Please visit www.recollectionsks.org to view pictures, documents, and much more from our community’s history.
Everyone has a story to tell, no matter how big or how small. You have your own families and friends with stories. The Rossville Community Library has created a collection of recorded spoken memories from individuals connected to Rossville through our Rossville Remembers endeavor. Preserving these memories is important to our collective historical archive.
