Library to Offer Free Tax Prep

The library will participate in the IRS’ Free Income Tax Preparation Program (VITA). This is the 4th year we have participated in the VITA Program.

We will have two-three tax preparers each session, and returns are prepared first come, first served.

Our hours will be Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. from February 1st through April 12th. There are other VITA sites in Shawnee County if our hours don’t work for you. Please see the list below for other options.

It is important for you to bring all the required information and documents. We require photo identification (such as a driver’s license) for each taxpayer/spouse, but not for children on the return. We require social security cards (a copy of a card is acceptable) for every person on the return including children. Please bring all other pertinent tax documents with you such as (but not limited to) W-2s, 1099s, 1095s, etc.

If you have questions, please call the library and ask to speak to Adrienne. 785-584-6454
